This device adopts the ultrasonic measurement principle and is suitable for measuring the thickness of various materials that allow ultrasonic waves to propagate internally at a constant speed and reflect from the back surface.
Applications:
This instrument can measure various plates and processed parts. Another important application is monitoring pipelines and pressure vessels in industrial equipment, assessing their thinning due to corrosion during use. It is widely used in industries such as petroleum, chemical engineering, metallurgy, shipbuilding, aviation, and aerospace.
Basic Principle:
The principle of ultrasonic thickness measurement is similar to that of optical wave measurement. The probe emits an ultrasonic pulse that travels through the material, reaches the interface, and is reflected back to the probe. By measuring the time taken for the ultrasonic wave to travel within the material, the thickness of the measured object is determined.
Features:
- Reverse sound velocity measurement for composite and unknown materials with a known thickness.
- Upper and lower tolerance settings with automatic alarm for exceeded limits.
- Bilingual operation menu (Chinese/English).
- Status indication function.
- Suitable for measuring the thickness of metals (e.g., steel, cast iron, aluminum, copper), plastics, ceramics, glass, fiberglass, and other good ultrasonic conductors.
- Instrument calibration function.
- Coupling status indication function.
- High-brightness LED backlight display for use in dim environments.
- Battery level indicator to display remaining power.
- Energy-saving features such as auto-sleep and auto-shutdown.
- Compact, portable, highly reliable, resistant to harsh environments, vibration, impact, and electromagnetic interference.
- Metric and imperial units selectable.
