This device adopts the ultrasonic measurement principle and is suitable for measuring the thickness of various materials that allow ultrasonic waves to propagate internally at a constant speed and reflect from the back surface.
Applications:
This instrument can measure various plates and processed parts. Another important application is monitoring pipelines and pressure vessels in industrial equipment, assessing their thinning due to corrosion during use. It is widely used in industries such as petroleum, chemical engineering, metallurgy, shipbuilding, aviation, and aerospace.
Basic Principle:
The principle of ultrasonic thickness measurement is similar to that of optical wave measurement. The probe emits an ultrasonic pulse that travels through the material, reaches the interface, and is reflected back to the probe. By measuring the time taken for the ultrasonic wave to travel within the material, the thickness of the measured object is determined.
Key Features:
- Reverse sound velocity measurement for composite and unknown materials with a known thickness.
- Upper and lower tolerance settings with automatic alarm for exceeded limits.
- Suitable for measuring the thickness of metals (e.g., steel, cast iron, aluminum, copper), plastics, ceramics, glass, fiberglass, and other good ultrasonic conductors.
- Built-in high-speed thermal printer for immediate printouts.
- Automatic zero calibration and system error correction.
- Battery voltage indication and auto power-off feature.
- Selectable measurement units: metric or imperial.
- Adjustable upper and lower limit alarm for thickness deviations.
- Reverse sound velocity calculation based on a known thickness.
- Two-point calibration for improved measurement accuracy.
- Data storage capability for test results.
